Reaching people for Christ through disasters
As the snow begins to melt in the Upper Midwest—finally—the Red River Valley region of Minnesota and North Dakota will once again deal with the certainty of spring flooding. The nearly annual event puts at risk thousands of residents and oftentimes leaves some of them in the midst of despair, their homes severely damaged or destroyed by the encroaching waters.

Senate passes same-sex marriage bill
Governor Dayton expected to sign legislation
The Minnesota Senate voted today 37-30 to allow same-sex marriage in the state. The vote came after impassioned speeches on both sides of the issue.

Dignity is a hard commodity on India's streets. Comfort is seldom an option. Those who live there come by choice — a proclivity for drugs or alcohol and easy money to obtain them. Dr. Leith Anderson, NAE president, said that of the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently in the U.S., some 40 percent of them came here legally but have since overstayed their visas. Citing a myriad of examples and data and the seeming inability of the U.S. to effectively deal with the immigration issue, Anderson said, “There has to be a better way.”

‘Teachable moments’ are effective ways to pass on learning
We had it all figured out. With strong desire to be more intentional about teaching faith at home, we’d put together a little lesson plan for a family Bible study. Complete with some fun object lessons and activities, it was sure to be a hit!
